CavePvP Rules

The following content contains rules for the CavePvP network, both globally and for each individual server. Failure to follow these rules will result in punishment across the network. Staff members reserve the right to use their discretion, therefore this list may not be comprehensive.

💬 Chat Rules:

Do not be racist or homophobic.
Do not be overly toxic.
Do not spam or flood the chat.
Do not attempt to bypass the chat filter.
Do not participate in real world item selling.
Do not advertise other servers, including Discord servers.
Do not make DDoS/DOX threats or engage in DDoS/DOX comedy.
- There's been a huge problem with people making doxing/swatting jokes with their friends in-game, sending full names of their friends in public chat, then complaining when staff see it and instantly ban/blacklist them. We don't know who's friends with whom, so avoid making this type of joke.
Do not violate the privacy of others.
Do not post links to any pornographic, gore, shock, or screamer content/websites.
Do not post any video links that are on other games/servers.

🌎 Global Rules:

Do not spam create factions.
Do not misuse helpop.
- This feature should be reserved for requesting help, misuse will result in punishment.
Do not use cheat/use banned modifications.
- Cheating is defined as using any illegal modifications that give you an advantage over other players. INCLUDING AUTOCLICKING.
Do not exploit bugs.
Do not create racist/offensive builds/signs.
Do not grief. (This includes your claim, for example, a cobble monster)
Do not evade punishments.
Do not lie to staff.
Do not associate with cheaters.
Do not boost kills/events.
- Making a parkour/event, then tagging people before they fail (die) is boosting.
Do not have objectionable sword/faction names.
Do not have an objectionable Minecraft name/skin.
Do not blackmail or threaten players/staff.
You may have a maximum of 4 accounts online at a time.
Do not associate yourself with banned or blacklisted players who are evading. This can get you banned/blacklisted in association.
Screenshare Rules:
- Refusal to screen share or to open certain applications can result in a ban.
- Trolling or wasting staff time during an SS can result in a ban.
- Clearing your recycle bin before SS can result in a ban.
- Restarting your explorer, Minecraft, or other applications before SS can result in a ban.
- Do not play on a Custom OS, as it can have certain services disabled.
- Do not play with the following services stopped on your computer:
  - Diagtrack
  - Sysmain
  - DPS
  - Pcasvc
  - These services stop us from properly screen-sharing.
- Opening Windows PowerShell within a few minutes of opening your Minecraft/Lunar Client will result in a ban.
- If you get screenshared for capturing Citadel, you are now required to run out screenshare tool Detect. If you don't want to run it, don't capture/go for Citadels.
We ban players who we believe are solely out to ruin other people's experience, and their general presence on Cave causes lots of harm to people.

⚔️ HCF Rules:

Do not ally with other factions

Allying is when one faction is assisted during a fight by a third party.
Allying can be one-way, this is where one team helps another without the consent of the faction that is receiving a benefit.

Do not abuse PvP/SOTW timer.

Do not gatekeep KOTH/Citadel.

Gatekeeping is when you start fighting people right outside a Citadel/KOTH capzone/area effectively preventing them from knocking.
Gatekeeping can also be considered if you are in Citadel/KOTH area and making zero effort to knock. If you don't want to knock then don't go to Citadel or KOTH. This can discourage factions from knocking as they see you as a step in the way.
- This is of course, up to the staff member.

Do not grief fights.

This can be blocking archer shots, breaking blocks under combatants, blocking hits or many other situations where they can't hit you but you annoy them.

Do not PvP Timer/SOTW Timer Abuse

Do not invite banned/blacklisted evading players, can result in a blacklist/ban.

Do not evade DTR

DTR evasion is where a faction leader kicks a member just before they die in order to avoid DTR loss. Disbanding a faction while on DTR freeze and creating a new one is another form of evasion.
DTR evasion can also occur when you go on an alt to PvP/knock a KOTH to avoid losing DTR. Even if you don't die, you can be punished for DTR evading, as you intended to DTR evade.
In some scenarios, DTR evading can result in you being set RAIDABLE.

Do not boost DTR

DTR boosting is where a faction member has multiple accounts in a faction in order to gain more DTR.

Do not inside factions.

Do not log out whilst frozen.
- Players have 3 minutes to join TeamSpeak upon being frozen. You will be banned if you do not comply with staff instructions.
Do not hold other players hostage.
- Holding hostage is where a player is trapped within a claim but is not actively being killed for a long period.
Do not kick & kill members.
- Kick & kill is where a member is kicked from a faction and killed by the members. This rule also applies if a member leaves the faction and kills its members.
Do not freeze your Minecraft to avoid death.
Autoclicking outside of KOTH and Citadel is not allowed.
Duping, being in a faction with dupers or knowing of a glitch/exploit and not reporting it to a staff member can result in a ban/blacklist.
- If you find out about a game-breaking exploit or dupe, tell a Head-Staff member, and you could win top rank, a Gift Card, or even PayPal/Crypt,o depending on the Ownership team.
Getting on alts and getting yourselves killed purposefully by factions to try to frame them for boosting will result in a blacklist and a possible DQ/faction ban for your faction.
You can only have 1 account per player per faction for the entire map. No, rotating a player with an alt of theirs.
Do not use illegal traps.
- Illegal traps include, but are not limited to:
  - Having 3 or more dropdowns in your entire claim.
    - REMINDER: You can have 3 layers as long as only TWO of them are critouts.
    - You can't have more than 3 layers, crit-out or not.
  - Suffocation traps.
  - Upsign traps leading to death.
  - Dropdowns that exceed 15 blocks in either direction.
  - Using blocks that cannot be hit through, such as fence gates, doors, or levers, to obstruct players
    - These blocks are still allowed to be used as entrances/exits, as this is allowed
    - This and this are not at all allowed.
  - Having lava in dropdowns.
  - Having Ice / Soulsand in dropdowns.
  - Tunnels after dropdowns - Click Here
  - Chests in dropdowns are not allowed.

🏹 Kits Rules:

Do not Block/Pearl/Hub glitch.

Several common-sense rules aren't listed here, and other rules that Head-Staff can enforce. Simply just be a normal player and there should never be any issues!
